Some people believe luck comes from a number, a horseshoe, an animal foot or even a four-leaf clover. But luck is the last thing you need when you attend the Towman ShowPlace at the South Point in Las Vegas, because this show is always a win.
This annual event—the only large-scale tow show on the West Coast—brings together many of the top companies west of the Mississippi.
This year, Zip’s AW Direct didn’t leave anything to chance. We arrived with a team of experts, including Randy, our Service Manager; Brian from Product Development; Bobbi Jo from Outfitters; and several of our Customer Service Representatives, just to name a few. Our team was there to answer attendees’ questions and showcase the latest innovations in the industry.
Our booth was stocked with exciting new products we were proud to demonstrate, including the Driveline Breaker Tool, TireJect and two of our beautiful trucks. One featured the SpaceKap service body, and the other was our custom-built 2026 Freightliner Century Car Carrier, lovingly nicknamed Cherry Bomb. Outfitted with an SP9000 Side Puller, chrome grille and topped off with SafeAll's Traffic Commander, Cherry Bomb stood out with its gorgeous, shimmering cherry-red finish. We weren’t surprised when it sold right off the show floor.
I was also proud to be a presenter at Tow Academy. More than 50 people attended my seminar, where I discussed LinkedIn and shared how tow company owners and operators can use the platform to highlight their businesses and promote our industry.
The show featured several great events. In addition to Tow Academy, WreckMaster offered hands-on training. CTTA and ERSCA also hosted their annual Industry Leaders Dinner and Show. This event not only recognized ERSCA students who achieved perfect scores, but also honored two Californians—Bill Salazar and Doug Nelson—with Industry Leader Awards.
Still, we had the most fun in our booth. Whether we were catching up with customers we’ve known since opening our doors more than 50 years ago or meeting people brand new to the industry, it’s the people who make these shows so special.
